Best Personal Lubricants

May 12th, 2010

We often hear the question: what are the best personal lubricants? Wow, that’s a great question. One that totally depends on the individual. The real question is what’s most important to you? Slickness? Duration? Scent? Flavor? Chemical free? All natural? Non staining? Discreteness of packaging? Every lube provides different benefits, so the real question is what kind of experience do you want? What do you want to do for your body and what kind of experience do you want? We’re always striving to make the perfect product, so email us let us know what you think makes for the perfect lube! We’ll choose a winner (at random) from the people who respond to receive a complimentary three-pack of Aloe Cadabra products.

Personal Lubricant Ingredients – Part 1

April 28th, 2010

You’re likely here because you care what you put on your body. So, the question of just what the best lubricant ingredients are has probably crossed your mind. We know it’s crossed ours! We’ve recently discovered a great website from the non-profit Environmental Working Group: www.cosmeticsdatabase.org.

The website ranks the toxicity of products and ingredients and tells you what the potential dangers are of the ingredients in any formula. We encourage you to check it out and see just how “clean,” your lubricant is. Better yet, take a look at the toxicity of all of your cosmetics and skin care products. It’s a great independent source of information that can help you make great decisions and ensure the things you put on your body are As Natural As Nature, just like Aloe Cadabra (When we ran Aloe Cadabra through, we got the lowest toxicity rating of any lubricant we know of!). And, you might just be surprised to find that something you thought was all natural may not be so as much as you’d hoped!

Here’s to your health and knowing just what you’re putting in your body.

Can I Use Backyard Aloe As a Personal Lubricant?

April 23rd, 2010

Well, we believe the better question is how much fun would it be to have sex on your hammock in the backyard? Or on your swing set? Or under the stars with a warm blanket and some good wine? Those questions withstanding, many people have used raw aloe as a personal lubricant. In fact, that’s how we discovered the magic of aloe and experienced our first of many magic moments! We picked it right from our fields, filleted it and used it as not only a lubricant, but also a moisturizer. It worked unbelievably well. But, it was a bit runny, was difficult to work with and took away the spontaneity (who wants to fillet an aloe stalk when they’re ready for something more)? And, you of course need to be careful to make sure you get all the dirt off, don’t leave any of the prickly skin or have any bugs. As with anything you put on or in your body, you should make sure you aren’t allergic and if you feel any discomfort, immediately stop using it.

Raw aloe can be sensual, slippery fun and potentially healing (the healing properties of Aloe have been known for some time). But why go through the hassle of filleting the aloe, keeping it cool, delicately insuring it there’s no dirt or bugs in it, when you can get the same effect with out it, in a ready to use bottle that also includes incredible fragrances from organic essential oils? When trying to figure out which lubricant to choose, a lubricant with a lot of aloe is great for you, so more can be better! Be sure to read the label carefully; many tout having aloe vera or other great things like Vitamin E, but when you get down to it, there isn’t much of it in the bottle. So, read the label carefully and always look for a product like Aloe Cadabra, which has more than 95% organic aloe vera, along with some incredible other food grade ingredients that help provide thickness, lubricity, sensual aromas and other great qualities that make it fantastic for you and your partner or by yourself. So, use that aloe in your backyard. Better yet, use Aloe Cadabra while in your backyard…under the stars!

Intimate Lubricant with Organic Ingredients

April 7th, 2010

Go Green Street’s “Green Tara” knows that her body is no place for antifreeze and other harsh chemicals!:

A part of the “green” movement is eliminating harmful chemicals from our life and working to get them removed from person care items. Propylparaben Propylene Glycol if often used as a chemical in many personal lubricants that is also used as an antifreeze. Sorry but, anything that is uses as an antifreeze, is not going to be used on me!

We all look for “green” products, and Aloe Cadabra is a product that can be used to “GREEN YOUR BEDROOM ROUTINE“. This silky lubricant is free from Glycerine, Parabens, Alcohol, Hormones and other harsh chemical substances. It truly is an eco-friendly “between the sheets” product!

Safer Lubricant Alternatives

March 29th, 2010

Safemama.com bills itself as a “one-stop safe beauty, health, and eco-gorgeous resource”, and according to author Statia, Aloe Cadabra definitely fits that bill!:

What a cute name.  Like magic lube!  Aloe Cadabra is a little different from the few others that I’ve found.  The ingredients are food grade, so if you would happen to ingest it (and I won’t ask how you would, because what you do behind closed doors is your business), it’s perfectly safe.

I have to admit, that when I saw that it was mainly aloe vera gel, I was concerned that it might dry out or get sticky during use, unlike oil based lubricants, but it held up pretty well.  On top of that, aloe, as most people know, has magical healing properties.   And as a girl, you know that your girly parts can get aggravated easily.  So this is a nice change.  Maybe this is where the magic comes in.

Fun, Safe Organic Lubricant Review

March 26th, 2010

dry-groundShannon at The Mommy Files has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marriage, Family, and Human Development, so she knows the importance of a good lube to the health of a body and a relationship!

In a marriage, intimacy is important…vital even to its survival and happiness.  However, it’s hard to be intimate if you feel uncomfortable.  Medicines (or birth controls) can cause dryness, which lessen the enjoyment for women in intimate situations.  Many women (and men) try to relieve the dryness with over-the-counter products, but some result in uncomfortable reactions to the products.  In steps Aloe Cadabra!

Natural Lubricant Perfect For Skin

March 17th, 2010

Kristin at OurOrdinaryLife.com likes Aloe Cadabra for being usable as a natural, biologically-sound skin lotion!

Aloe works in a number of ways. Mucopolysaccharides, one of the ingredients that are in aloe vera, create a thin protective covering. It’s the chemical makeup that does this, not some added synthetic chemical. It’s this natural chemical that helps to support a healthy migration of nutrition and waste on a cellular level. This helps to protect against infection; one of the reasons why aloe vera is so healing. Another chemical – choline – is a natural anti-inflammatory that helps to soothe and heal skin by using the bodies own natural processes.
