Menopause Goddess: AC a “wonderful adjunct to intimacy”

April 28th, 2011

File under “Cool New Menopause Relief Stuff”: On her Menopause Goddess Blog, Lynette Sheppard provides insights and resources to those living with The Big M. A great side-effect of the blog, she says, is the “influx of information about new, great products designed to ease the journey of the menopausal woman.” Lynette shared some of those in a recent post, and Aloe Cadabra is on the list!

Aloe Cadabra is a natural personal lubricant, made as the name suggests, from 95% organic aloe. It’s a wonderful adjunct to intimacy for the menopausal woman (and I just love the name.) We’ll be sharing more about the importance of lubricants in a blog post in the near future, where Theresa Venus shares a personal experience important to all menopause goddesses.

Still Searching for the Perfect Lube?

March 22nd, 2011

We hear from a lot of women who have spent sometimes YEARS searching for the “perfect lubricant”…the one that doesn’t feel sticky, or smell funny, or contain harsh chemicals, or…
The criteria are as many and as varied as the causes of vaginal dryness or the symptoms of menopause, and since we want people to be having healthy sexual relationships even into their golden years, we’re always interested in experts sharing their often hard-earned wisdom about causes and glorious solutions to the most common sexual frustrations!

Sheri Goddard, The Menopause Coach, shares:

· 95% of all adult women suffer from occasional vaginal dryness. The birth of a child, stress and diet are common factors.

· Vaginal dryness affects 50% of post-menopausal women aged 51-60.

· 54% of sexually active women (39 million) express a desire to improve sexual intimacy and performance in their relationships.

According to Time Magazine October 21, 2009: ” Most of the lubricants in the U.S. – drugstores sold $82 million worth of them that year – contain chemicals found in oven cleaner, brake fluid and antifreeze.” Hard to believe!

Sheri’s search finally ended with a food-grade, 95% organic aloe lubricant with Vitamin E. Can you guess what it is? She says she wouldn’t want to be without Aloe Cadabra because it doesn’t dry out during intimacy, doesn’t irritate the vaginal walls, and is non-toxic:

This is very important as we are constantly putting toxins into our bodies on a daily basis without even noticing. Toxins can make a huge difference in the way you will experience symptoms of menopause or even hormonal imbalances. (If you aren’t familiar with toxins we are putting into our bodies daily, read under the heading of Toxic Body to learn more.)

Crunchy Betty Gave Away FREE Lube!

November 2nd, 2010

The French Lavender didn’t stand a chance, but Crunchy Betty knew that the full-sized bottles of Natural and Tahitian Vanilla were meant to be passed along. In her words:

With trembling fingers, I tore into the huge package and immediately opened the french lavender. It smells like running through the English countryside, the gentle wind tousling your hair as you throw it back and smile at the Orlando-Bloom-esque man who’s frolicking behind you carrying a bouquet of flowers and an engagement ring.

But, sorry. You can’t win that one. I opened it. It’s mine.

And I keep looking longingly at the other two boxes full of aloe goodness, but I know in my heart that the universe wants me to pass on the love.

Now, I can’t give you a full monte review here, because I haven’t used the Aloe Cadabra in it’s, um, marketed use. As you know, Fiance’s out of town and … yeah.

However! I will tell you that this stuff is AWESOME as a hand softener. I use it a couple of times a day – just slather it on – and my hands don’t only smell divine, but they’re super soft.

And it worked wonders that one time a few days ago when I forgot that the backs of hands and broilers ne’re should meet. I had a huge burn that is now completely healed (four days later), and I gotta thank Aloe Cadabra for that magic.

I can only dream of the other kinds of magic it could bring.

Oh, Orlando.

Those two bottles have moved on, but keep an eye on Betty for natural beauty recipes, home remedies, and life humor…and who knows what else she’ll give away! (Plus you can still participate in the sharing of first-kiss stories if you want to!)

Aloe Cadabra “Happy Feet” Commercial

September 23rd, 2010

Here is the first ever commercial we’ve produced at Aloe Cadabra.

It’s called Happy Feet.

For us, it was about finding a safe, fun way to let people know what Aloe Cadabra is, and to let people know that there is a natural choice. We need lots more people to know that we’re out there so everyone is aware that there is a great, natural choice.

So, if you like the commercial and you believe in using products that are As Natural As Nature, we’re hoping that you’d be willing to forward the commercial to ten of your friends.

We’ve always said that Aloe Cadabra is as natural as nature. And this is about as natural a way to distribute a commercial that we could think of.

At Aloe Cadabra, we believe that happy relationships are the key to a happy life…not only between you and your partner, but also between you and us.

Thanks, from all of us at Aloe Cadabra.

And, as always, happy snuggling.

How Do I STOP Menopause?

September 16th, 2010

“What is menopause?? and what can u do to stop it?”, asks a seemingly frantic Amie on Yahoo! Answers. As usual, the simplest answer turns out to be best, in the words of user Which Witch Is Which: “It’s when you stop your periods, it tends to happen from ages 45-55, and you can’t stop it.”

Well that certainly answers the question, but since Amie seems anxious about it, we’d love to offer some thoughts and suggestions on the matter:

Menopause is indeed an inevitable change in a woman’s body, most popularly marked by the cessation of menstruation (as another contributor said, “…who would want to stop menopause? I mean your periods will become a thing of the past”). “The Great Change” typically comes in two stages, and characteristics of menopause can include irregular periods (before they stop completely), hot flashes, and sleep disturbances. Because your body will have stopped releasing eggs, production of the hormones estrogen and progesterone decreases, and one of the effects of that is vaginal dryness.

Like any other time in your life, keeping your body healthy will be so important! A healthy diet, exercise, and drinking plenty of water will help, as will being mindful of what’s in the other products you’re using. Keeping the vagina moist can be simply a comfort issue if you’re not sexually active at that time, but especially if you are, having a lubricant that actually heals and nourishes your most delicate skin and doesn’t add harmful chemicals to your body is a MUST.

Of course, we recommend something organic…perhaps with a light lavender scent? ;)

Lubrication to Relieve Vulvar Pain

September 14th, 2010

cracked-groundFeeling chapped, pinched, or itchy is no way to feel ready for any sexual activity, much less be comfortable in general, so for women experiencing vulvar pain, lubrication and healthy skin are critical concerns.

Alex at VulvarVestibulitisRelief.com has put together a list of her “rock stars” of moisturization and lubrication, with attention to ingredients, cost, and pain relief or skin nourishing benefits. Aloe Cadabra is on the list, as is Vitamin E oil! We know the healing and soothing powers of aloe and the anti-aging properties of Vitamin E, so it sounds like Aloe Cadabra enriched with Vitamin E must be a winner!

What Do I Do For Vaginal Dryness?

September 7th, 2010

Shelle shares this via Yahoo! Answers:

What do I do For Vaginal dryness? I’m only 21 and i don’t get moist down there… this is so embarrassing… i only have one ovary and tube… because it was removed due to a cyst… what can i do besides use lubricants?

You’re in luck, Shelle! Not only are personal lubricants perfectly acceptable to use (just make sure you’re choosing one that’s healthy for your body!), but there are several other things you can be doing to support your natural ability to lubricate. Our resident expert, Carolyn Braddock, writes about this often, and this post is a practical guide to addressing vaginal dryness, with a link to even more resources!

Among the solutions:

1. Drink plenty of water (not soda) to ensure that the body is well hydrated. Balance the diet. Add some nutritional supplements if needed.
2. Be careful about using harsh chemicals, soaps, douches, and other products containing allergens, dyes and fragrances.
3. Exercise to increase the “chi” or chi energy and breath moving through the body.
4. Stimulate your sexual organs. Lubrication may take a bit longer, but it is still there. Spend time self pleasuring. With a partner, slow down, take your time.
5. Use some personal lubricant that is natural, and will help to restore your own vaginal moisture. Aloe Cadabra is a magical gel that is 95% organic aloe.
6. Affirm you! Certainly sexual activity can be joyous and exciting. Keep the juices flowing.

It’s Better When Wet: Jaiya and Caroline Talk Lube

September 3rd, 2010

Jaiya-ACBE SURE TO TUNE IN! Aloe Cadabra’s Caroline Braddock will be on the the “Sex With Jaiya” radio program today at 4pm Pacific Time, talkin’ about the ONLY personal lubricant that “one of the most progressive voices on sexual wellness” recommends! (Hint: it’s made from 95% organic aloe vera)

Sex with Jaiya returns! And we are going to have a whole bunch of fun today talking about sexual lubricants with my guests. There is a misconception that if women aren’t lubricating something must be wrong with them. I want to break the myth and tell you ways that lube can make sex more fun, more pleasurable and even better for your sexual health and wellness. If you’re interested in LUBE and being entertained tune in for a great episode- it will be slippery and WET!

September is Menopause Awareness Month, and today’s show also kicks off a larger campaign by the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) to “help women turn this time in their lives into a celebration instead of something they dread”, according to a press release put out by VoiceAmerica, which hosts the “Sex With Jaiya” program.

Women over 50 are having some of the best sex of their lives! There are a lot of physical, emotional and spiritual changes that can occur during menopause and if you know how to take advantage of them you can have peak pleasurable moments as you journey through this period change.
